Glad I'm Not --

PLACES I COULD BE, BUT I'M NOT - AND THAT MAKES ME HAPPY

1. San Diego - This is the weekend of the big San Diego speech tournament that we attended last year. We had a great time and won awards, but I'm glad to be home. With hosting our tournament last weekend, fighting a cold, and going to OSU next weekend, it's nice to be at home.

B. "Battle of the Bands" - At Kev's high school, this annual event is a chance for high school students to showcase their talents. Loud garage bands with too-loud electric guitars, anyone? Anyone? The rest of the family is in attendance right now, but I'm happy at home.

Thirdly. WinCo grocery store - Nick and I went earlier today, and we were negotiating every aisle. Too crowded. Plus, nighttime there can be kinda sketchy.

IN OTHER NEWS
Thanks to the speech nerds who double as poker players for allowing me to win a dollar last night. And for giving me an excuse to make a cake.

I think as long as I am around, you should never feel like you need a reason to make cake. In all actuality, we should start scheduling practices and cake as their own occassions. Have cake with your book work. Thanks for the good times and the good food...and for someone else's money.
