Another Day, Another Country
Some of the highlights from Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay.
We climbed 118 steps of a lighthouse. The boat to the right is the type of boat we were on to cross the river - which turned out to be a skinny part of the ocean, with choppy waves that cause nausea. While at the top of the lighthouse my fear of falling kicked in - as in (a) "I'm driving on a bridge and I'm afraid that my car will go off of it" and (b) "I'm riding a bike down a hill and I'm afraid that I will fall over the front of the handlebars." I didn't fall off of the lighthouse.
My guidebook told us about the best ice-cream shop in Colonia - so, of course, we went. I asked (in Spanish!) the employee what her favorite flavor was - swiss chocolate. It was so amazing - that after my first bite I had to sit down and catch my breath. Luckily, I didn't faint.
This is my favorite ad that I've seen. I think it's a drawing of the famous muscular Uruguayan polar bear.
I hope that Jess, Ashley, and Tiffanie use this photo for their album cover.
Cool tiles were on walls in the city. This would also be a good album cover.
Labels: album covers, bears with big chests, getting stamps in your passport, half of a bottle of orange soda was spilled on my pants

Those are great pictures! That ice cream looks as foodgasmically delicious as you described it, Sam.
