697 Or 460? Vote Now.
In the last couple of days, we had new siding put on our house. Now comes the time to choose the color to paint the house. Here's where we're at so far.
* Of the six house on our court, five of them are in the tan/brown family. More specifically, three are taupe, one is light tan, and one is brownish.
* Our house was green - kind of a grayish green - with white trim.
* I'm unable to convince Traci that purple is a good color for our house. (I think the purple bathroom with bubbles is enough purple for her.) Even after I bought a couple of samples, and put them on the house, she's still unconvinced. In fairness, when I saw the purple samples, I lost some enthusiasm for the color. The samples reminded me of black cherry ice-cream, which I hate.
* By process of elimination of colors, we're left with green family again. At present, we have seven samples of green painted on our house. The two serious contenders are #697 (scenic drive) and #460 (herb bouquet) from Benjamin Moore. As I'm sure you know, 460 is a shade darker than 697.
So, cast your votes now. What color should our house be?

I vote for the herb one since it will make folks think you're always mellow for a different reason. :-)

After careful consideration I go with 460.

460, darker is better, no one wants a house color that could double as a kitchen color...

I'm embarassed to admit how long I sat here, actually considering how I should vote. First "Herb bouquet" grabbed my attention, but then I thought that "Herb bouquet" is the kind of phrase that, quite frankly, even I'M not girly enough to use. On the other hand, I considered that "Herb bouquet" is at least more specific than scenic drive. And darker colors are usually better, as well. Plus, the number "460" sounds inexplicably cooler than "697" So, after much deliberation, I vote Herb bouquet.

I tried to find samples online, but failed... However, I did see one comment re: "scenic drive" - it was described as "muted turquoise", so if "herb bouquet" is not in the turquoise family, I'd vote for it.
