Multi-Lingualityness

While, driving today, we passed a restaurant that serves Chinese food. The sign outside the restaurant has several Chinese characters on it.

JONAS: Oh - Chinese letters - cool! Como esta?

First, I'm impressed that he recognized (or guessed correctly) that the characters were indeed Chinese. I only know that they were because other words on the sign (written in English) said that this was a Chinese restaurant.

Second, there may be a bit of confusion about languages...not sure...
