Oneonta, Son, Oneonta
Yesterday, we took a day trip to Oneonta Falls with another family. If you are in Oregon, or will be in Oregon, you MUST go. It is near Multnomah Falls (big waterfall with lots of tourists that you can look at and climb stairs), and much more fun. We had quite the adventure.
Jules and I are ready for the 3/4-mile hike to the falls. Her favorite saying during the hike was "fish, fish" as she was pointing to the water. In addition to seeing fish, which the kids tried (unsuccessfully) to spear, the kids caught frogs, a snake, and a newt.
To get to the falls, we had to cross a bunch of logs. A sign warned us that the "log jam" was dangerous. Jonas laughs in the face of danger - and mocks it. We also crossed some large rocks and walked through water that varied in depth up to three feet. I didn't fall during the hike. But we did see a kid fall while walking through water and he got all wet. Kevin was next to him and said, "That's unfortunate." I laughed.
Traci with some of the kids. Swimming across the pool was more challenging than it looks due to the (a) cold temperature of the water, (b) wind coming off of the falls, and (c) fear of large fish biting your legs.
Kevin swam across the pool and scaled the sheer rock wall of slipperiness.
Jonas, with our friend Hannah, taking a break.
Summer in Oregon - good times. However, the forecast for five days of clouds and showers doesn't look too appealing.
Labels: favorite place in Oregon, nobody should be named "newt", Wynnie is still gone :)

Sam, you are such a wonderful dad.
(As evidenced by your eldest's response to strangers falling down.)

Ditto Dani's comment. Your kids=really damn cute.
And per Ashley's, at least your kid didn't push the other kid...(or is that the part you're leaving out???).
