Name The Baby
The lawyer who is working on our adoption of Jules asked us what her new name will be.
Since the Fondly, Sam commenters were so helpful with providing feedback on the color of our house last summer, we are now taking suggestions for baby names - even though she's not really a baby. But, she kinda is.
INFORMATION THAT WILL HELP YOU THINK OF A GREAT NAME
1. Her name is Cynthia Juliana [last name].
We call her Jules and will continue to do so. But, that doesn't mean that her given name will be Jules. Jules can be a nickname, or shortened version of another name. We will not be naming her Juliana. Or Cynthia.
2. Jules came into our lives through Oma/Rita/Traci's mom - who had her as a foster child when she was born. We're thrilled that Jules has been in our family for her whole life (she's 2.5 years old now). If you can somehow work in Oma's name - Rita Marie - you will get bonus points. I thought that Marita would be a nice middle name. I was told that I was wrong.

i got three..all real hawaiian names...
Leia (Lay ee ah) which means child of heaven
Makamae (Mah kah mae') which means precious or cherished
Makana (Mah kah nah) which means gift
my personal favorite is leia because its almost as if jules was sent to you from heaven, like you guys were meant to be sort of thing. i also like makana because she is in a sense a gift that you guys were lucky enough to encounter.

wow josh gave you some good ones!!! for the record, i like "Marita," so whoever told you you were wrong, loses cool points (unless it was Traci, because her cool points are infinite... you might say they are incalculcable).
I think Jewel would make a wonderful middle name. Plus, the meaning of "Rita" is "pearl," and a pearl is a jewel.... eh? EH?!

1. Amelia Jewel
2. Isabella Jewel
3. Leia Jewel
4. Makana Jewel
5. Maria Jewel

Jules Marita (from Papa)
We esp like Marita. It has the "ma" from Mae and Oma and all of Rita, who gave her all to care for Jules! Say Marita and roll the "r" and you will love that name too, Traci and Sam!
