Fences Make Good Neighbors
Whenever I do something that is remotely mechanical or construction-oriented, it is noteworthy.
Today's project: Start to build a fence. (About 60 feet of fence fell down in a wind storm).
With Traci's brother, Trevor, as the team leader, we accomplished today's goal of setting the posts in cement. Traci, Kevin, and I worked pretty hard. Oh, and Trevor did, too.
Specific tasks that I did - successfully:
* Dealt with problem post holes that had tree roots. I slaved away with a not-too-sharp shovel to get the roots out.
* Carried 80-lb. bags of cement mix. Getting these at Home Depot was a drag. The best thing about Home Depot is the guy that helps you load your heavy stuff into your vehicle, if you go out the correct door, which I did.
* Mixed cement. Just add water, and mix. Repeat. Repeat again.
* Shoveled cement into post hole and poked it with a stick so it settles. Or something like that. I just did what I was told.
To compensate for the several hours of manual labor, I went shopping with a friend. Nordstrom Rack rules!

How was the Rack? Anything good?
Sounds like a productive day with tools, and work. Calls for a frosty brew. Were none had?

The Rack: My friend scored. I found a cool blazer, but it was too expensive.
No frosty beverages were consumed. Just lots of water. And Diet Pepsi.
