Who's The Boss?
This weekend, our friends went to the coast, and we watched their two daughters.
On Friday night, as dinner was ending, the kids asked about dessert. Traci told them that they could have ice-cream during the movie (Barnyard) that they were going to watch after dinner. The three-year-old asked again about having ice-cream. Traci had the same response. After a bit of back and forth between the two of them, the girl screamed, "I WANT ICE-CREAM NOW!!" Traci must have thought she said, "I WANT A TIME-OUT NOW," because that's what she got.
Today, the same girl was screaming at another kid in the house (I'm not sure who it was, since we had seven kids here - yes, seven, and they were fantastic). I told her that she doesn't need to scream, and we don't like screaming in our house. She said, "I'm not screaming. I'm yelling." Oh.
IN OTHER NEWS
Nick and I went to Home Depot today and bought 70 fenceboards (we still need 92 more). But we didn't build the fence. It was raining.

Two things...
1) Good for you for not allowing screaming in the house. Next time I'm over I'll make sure I'm yelling at you to pass the salt rather than screaming it.
2) Put on a rain coat, waterproof boots, go outside and nail a couple of boards. It's a lot of fun. I promise.

My mom still comments that there is no need to yell, but you would think after all these years she would understand that I really only have two volumes. I can't help it.

Ashley: We didn't buy all of the boards at once because I knew we wouldn't finish the fence, and I didn't want to store the extra boards for 1-2 weeks. thanks for asking.

One time my friend Taylor babysat my little sister (mistake) when she was like three or four. She started yelling and running around in the house and my friend Taylor said, "Deja, you know what we do at my house when little kids scream?" He took her dolly from her and threw it really hard face down on the floor. She started crying and then my mom found out and never hired Taylor to watch her again...... PS my winter Three prof called me by my real name yesterday...Jennifer
