Maybe I'll Hang Out With Jeb

I may not be updating my blog for a while, because on Tuesday night, T-Mac and I are taking 9 students (also known as pretty much the coolest kids around) to the Sunshine State for the American Forensic Association's National Individual Events Tournament (also known as speech nationals). We're flying to Orlando, spending a night, and then going to Gainesville, where there is some interest in some kind of basketball thing, I'm not really sure. We'll be gone for a week.

On a side note: The national debate tournament just ended. We entered two teams and both did very well, with one team advancing to elimination rounds. This was our first year to enter this tournament, and I'm really proud of our debaters. They got to go to lovely Corvallis, Oregon, home of every fast food restaurant in existence

Anyway, here are some things I hope to do while in Florida:

1. Be outside. In the sun. By a pool.
2. Be outside. In the sun. On a beach.
3. Wear loud, tacky, touristy clothes.
4. Purchase loud, tacky Florida clothes.
5. Drink fresh squeezed orange juice.
6. Eat key lime pie - the real thing.
7. Consume a frosty beverage with a small umbrella in it (that T-Mac buys me because he lost the bet about Masa and T-funny starting to date), while sitting outside on a warm evening.
8. Buy a super-cool Florida gift for Traci.
9. See some friends I haven't seen in a while.
10. Oh, yeah, and I want to see my team get a bunch of awards.

As Governor Jeb Bush said, "Tourism and visitors are our lifeblood."
I'm glad that I am keeping Florida alive
