My Roundhouse Kick
My favorite day in Florida was spent at the Atlantic Ocean. We were on a sparsely populated beach in Cocoa Beach with great weather. The water was warm enough to stay in for a while. Beach highlights include:
Fighting the waves in the ocean - While I tried my roundhouse kick at a couple of waves (note: not particularly effective), Jess let herself get tumbled around and regularly ended up with a foot or two in the air (note: quite effective). I also liked it when Ashley said, "Sam, you're fun in the ocean." I just hope that I'm not too incredibly boring on land.
Mark's phone - Our future president is so addicted to his phone that he had it in the water with him. Whenever it rang, he was instantly angry and cursed (note: this behavior is non-unique to the ocean; it's a normal occurence).
Almost ditching Ashley - The grand scheme of trying to leave Ash at the beach didn't work. She noticed that we were leaving, even though we were trying to be quiet.
The sand non-castle - Four or five of the folks made (what they called) a sand castle. It was really a small mound of sand with some rocks on it. I didn't tell them this, because I was enjoying the looks of pride on their faces.
Overall, a cool day with cool people. In my mind, I'm still there.

New rule Sam...nationals can no longer be hosted by a school above the 32 parallel. Seriously, sun is the key!
