Needed: Miracle Max

Traci and her mom are avid participants in the art of looking at houses that are for sale, hoping that someday, the dream house will be there. That day may have been yesterday, when we toured the house in this picture (the picture does not show it off very well).

The house is on ten acres of nice land, about 20 minutes from my university. Good-bye suburbia, hello country life. Maybe.

Today we went back for a second look at the house, and I'm thinking that we need about five miracles to make this happen. So, in honor of the quest for miracles, here are some lines from Miracle Max, of The Princess Bride (one of the best movies ever made - and even better book) fame.

Miracle Max says, "You rush a miracle man, you get rotten miracles."
* Good to remember - we'll be thorough and patient.

Miracle Max also says, "Sonny, true love is the greatest thing, in the world-except for a nice MLT - mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe. They're so perky, I love that."
* Again, good point. Perhaps we'll raise some sheep. They can hang out in the pasture and four-stall barn -- until they become sandwiches.

And finally, Miracle Max says, "Have fun storming the castle!"
* Bring it. We will.

Our love is like a story book story....it's as real as the feelings I feel....

Let it be known that my wife commented on my blog. This is historic. And she quoted lyrics from a song in The Princess Bride, which was sung at our wedding.

After you move in, you can get some livestock to warm the place up.

You have a great family and will be happy living anywhere, but you already knew that, so all I'll add is best of luck making what I'm sure will be a tough decision. You rock, let's get together soon! :-)

Dear Sam and Traci,

When you buy this house, get cats.

That's all.

Wow. The Princess Bride is also my favorite movie, and one of my favorite books. Even if you never read this message, I feel closer to you at this moment that ever before.
