Sad Clouds

The TV weatherdude with the offensive haircut and even more offensive tie just reported that this is the wettest November on record for Portland (almost 12 inches of rain this month). He was excited and there was an applause soundtrack playing in the background.

He said, "All that work we did finally paid off - we got the record!"

What?
He thinks that he and others make the rain fall out of the sky?
Where did he go to weather school?
The Clack?

This reminds me of a conversation that Nick and Jonas had while we were driving to Clack today.

JONAS: I know why it rains. The clouds are sad and their tears fall from the sky.

NICK: No, that's not it. When the air absorbs too much moisture from the earth, it gets released and falls back to earth, right, Dad?

DAD: I'm not really sure, but I like the cloud-tears picture.
(Translation: I have no idea and I don't want to know why. I didn't pay attention to that part of science class in junior high when we learned about weather. I just want the rain to stop.)

Whoa - now it's time for a story about a cat and sports. Done with the news.

This rain thing is overrated. I could be done with it at anytime.

Also, I knew a kid in high school that had planned on being a weather dude. He decided to be a Mormon instead. I wonder if they can make it rain too?

Nick was right. This further proves that we don't need a wellrounded education. We forget all the crap we don't care about after the final exam, so why bother wasting out time in the first place?!

The clack line made me laugh out loud in the Peace Corps headquarters computer lab and now everyone is staring at me. Thanks a lot. :-)

Gee, that's funny. Oregon is having the wettest weather on record while England is enjoying some of the dryest. Hmm. I guess we know who God loves best.
