Another Weekend, More Highlights

Our speech team competed at Linfield College this past weekend. Some favorite moments include:

* A coach from another college, who we'll call 3rd-I, approached Masa, touched the lower, front part of Masa's blazer (basically his frontal hip area), removed a white fuzz, said "This was on your jacket," and walked away. More than a little awkward.

* Another coach, who we'll call Brent from Carroll, praising the Pacific students several times; the last time proclaiming his love for them. Note: Carroll College has had the strongest forensics program in the Northwest for the past 10+ years.

* During c-debate finals, a few of our students (in the back of the auditorium, not officially participating in the round), taking the debaters' time and educating a young man on proper terminology of body parts.

* Overall speech award won by Masa. Ashley was fifth (really third if you don't count the juniors, which you shouldn't). Several events qualifying for nationals. Already? Yes.

* Warm fuzzies - great people on the team who make me love my job.

one time 3rd-I interrupted me in the middle of my speech and offered me a piece of cheese. He had even balled it up for me with his bre hands. What a guy.

One time, 3rd-I heckled me in the middle of my ADS that he was judging. Now the humor, is that unlike the two other comments made-mine is a true story. Oh wait, it wasn't funny at all. Asshole.

I don't have any 3rd-I stories. I'm so blessed in so many ways.
