Pool Daze

This week, I've enjoyed some time at the pool with the fam.

I've also enjoyed listening to other pool-goers. Here is a sampling of snippets:
-----
* Woman with awful haircut: "I just bought tickets for the four of us to fly to Orlando in December - and they were only $4,100. And that includes a rental car - in Florida. $4,100 - can you believe it? Isn't that a good deal? $4,100!"

FondlySam silent response: No, that's terrible. Why are you bragging about getting ripped off? And - your hair is offensive.
-----
* Woman talking to her 7(ish)-year-old son: "Come over here right now...I'm waiting...you come over here right now, or you'll sit on the side of the pool and not swim for the rest of the day..." She gets up and walks to him. "I told you to come to me." The boy did not sit on the side of the pool.

FondlySam silent response: That kid owns you. I hope you enjoy the next 10 years.
-----
* Woman talking to her infant, wanting others to hear: "Have you seen mommy's cell phone? I don't know if I brought it or not. Did I leave it on the table? I wonder if it's lost."

FondlySam silent response: How about you look at home and spare us the agony? And how about you stop bending over in your too-small swimsuit? That's not a view that anyone wants to see.

It brings to mind a question: Which would you find more tolerable? Woman who airs her "dirty laundry"...or hanging with a dude so white even strangers comment on his whiteness...alls I'm sezzin'

Pools have this "people watching" appeal that almost rivals that of malls, but it has a much different flavor than malls.

Speaking of which, we were told that the malls where we live have emenies everywhere and we should be very careful when we go there. I feel a little bit cooler now.
