Sasquatch Found!

I got a call yesterday from the nurse at Kevin's school. She told me that Kevin had bones protuding out of two fingers. Sure enough, he did. Apparently, he was wrestling with a "big, dumb kid." I'm not sure what the dumb factor had to do with it, but it was important.

We drove to Kaiser, where they not only took good care of him (replacing his bones, stitching up the holes in his skin, giving him a splint, and hooking him up with good drugs), but they also provided an entertaining cast of characters, such as:

* The nurse that Kev nicknamed "Sasquatch," based on her story of when she had a cast on her leg for 12 weeks and her leg was REALLY hairy. Also, when Kev's friend announced that his shirt was stinky, she replied, "No, it's me. I've been here all day and my deodorant has worn off."

* The guy who worked in the cast/splint area. Not only did he look like a low-level pot dealer, but his hands and fingernails were dirty.

* The nurse that explained to Kevin that the parade of staff was checking out his injury because it was so unique. He was their most interesting case of the day. Hooray for Kevin for training the staff!

Kev took pictures, but I won't post any here. If you really want to see it, let me know. You'll be sorry.

That is probably the most entertaining story of the day, and I almost killed a man through the cunning use of dry wit, a cracker, and an empty water glass. This is that level of humor.

Ten points for Kevin. Also, you SHOULD post the pictures.

Honesty is such a rarely seen virtue these days...sometimes that's a good thing. Like when a nurse fesses up to her own foul stench...

Looks like Kaiser needs a lesson on personal hygiene.
