Not only does our little (sometimes smirky) angel have some new fabulous costumes, but she also has a new name.
Thanks to the Fondly, Sam readers who suggested names for Jules.
Some of the names were outstanding, but just had to be rejected.
For example, the name Turtle - it's a strong entry, but it rhymes with "girdle" and the mocking from other kids would be endless.
Or Thomas - again, a solid effort here. However, when spelled backwards, the name is "samoht," which is problematic for legal reasons which are incalculable.
It was hard to choose from these beautiful names. We decided to keep Jules as her first name. That's what we've called her for her whole life. She will have two middle names - she's got way too much personality to settle for one. Her name is Jules Makana Marie.
Thanks to Masa for Makana - this little girl truly is a gift to us. And we're so glad that Uncle Masa is in her life.
Marie is Oma/Rita/Traci's mom's middle name. Oma/Rita/Traci's mom was the one who picked up Jules from the hospital when she was born, serving as a temporary foster parent. "Just for a week or two - until we find a home," said the case worker.
I guess it turned out that Jules found her own home.

Nice work! That's perfect! I don't think I ever met Jules so I can't wait to come home and see the newest Mathies! Also, about the high school tournament two years ago (read that last part again and you can guess my thoughts about whoever emailed you), the only thing I remember is Dani yelling at some kids in a debate round...they were from that spudder school in Washington. Not sure what they wanted me to do, then or now, but if they have any complaints, even this far removed (literally and figuratively) from the tournament, ummm...I guess...e-mail you or me?! What do they/him/her want us to do at this point? Weird.

Dang it! I knew that name would not be taken seriously. Personaly, I think that animal names are POWER names. How many times have kids with animal names grown up and done awesome things like have their own survival shows? I'm not saying you are dooming her, but you sure are limiting her options....
PS: your daughter is beautiful.
