Slacker Nest Child

A couple nights ago we went to Jonas and Nick's school for the Science-O-Rama (that's the real name of the event - I'm not making it up). It's basically a science fair with displays made by kids. But, it's more fun since it's an O-Rama.

Nick and his friend did an experiment with vinegar, baking soda, and explosions. They had a very nice board and showed the bottles they used for the explosions.

Jonas and the students in his class were each assigned to make a bird's nest. The instructions stated that they should gather the materials to construct the nest. Jonas carefully placed a variety of items, including red leaves, fresh mint, and dried iris leaves.

I couldn't resist taking this third picture. Apparently one kid thought the instructions said, "Go to the craft store and buy a pre-made wreath. Add tacky doves that are apparently getting married even though they already have six eggs - almost babies - what are our schools teaching our kids?" I kinda hope that family saw me cracking up and taking the picture.

IN OTHER NEWS
I saw a guy on campus today who has dreadlocks. Last week/month/year he did not. I guess he's newly Jamaican, mon.
I hope he plays the conch shell or steel drum and sings, "Feelin' hot hot hot." That may be all he knows, but he's gonna keep practicing.

You are correct; everything is cooler if it's called an "O-rama". Like your name. Sam-O-Rama just sounds so much cooler than just Sam. Not that you aren't super cool already. But I'm just saying...

I remember those Crap-O-Rama shindigs. I think it's about time that they gave out blue ribbons for "the most craptastic project clearly streamlined by the parents."
