We're All Winners, Right?

OVERHEARD, VOL. 5

Setting: Our minivan. I'm driving three boys home after Nick's birthday party, which included (at Nick's request) some old-school games, such as three-legged and push the egg on the floor races.

-------------------

BRADON: Wow. Those games were great. My team didn't lose any.

ROBERT: Yes, you did. What about the game with the eggs?

BRADON: Oh, I guess we lost that one.

ROBERT: That's right you did. And how about the one where you had to spin around with the tennis racquets?

BRADON: Yeah, I guess your team won that one, too, huh?

ROBERT: You bet we did.

BRADON: But those games were so fun - it felt like we won all of them.

ROBERT: But, you didn't. You either need to get a clue on reality or start telling the truth.

-------------------

Sound advice for many folks, Robert. Sound advice.

Wow, that's impressive. So young, yet so moral.
