The Pool-Goers Speak

I had the pool to myself today, for about 20 minutes, until other people showed up.
They spoke.
Out loud.

Here are my favorite quotations.

* * * * * * * *

"Is this water infected?"
-- Asked to the lifeguard, after a guy jumped in the pool.

"Wait, your name is Kelsey? I've known you for like a year and I thought your name was Chelsea."
-- A teen in a group of six other teenagers. He endured a lot of teasing.

"Everybody just shut up and listen to my new ring tone!"
-- Another teen in the same group of teenagers. The rest of the group was in silent shock for about two seconds, and then continued talking. She did not get to show off her new ring tone.

"Swim to the side."
The answer given by a young girl when her father asked, "Well, do you want to just drown here and die, or do you want to swim to the side?"

And this is why I will not only be successful, but also powerful in another couple years. The competition isn't putting up a fight.
