College Daze
Tonight before bedtime, Nick asked me questions about college life. He's planning to attend in about nine years. The following points were new information to him.
1. When you go to college, you still go to classes. It is not an option to just live there, and not go to class.
NOTE: While this tactic of college life has been tried, it is not tolerated, and you will get the boot. I can think of several students in the last few years who tested this principle - and lost.
2. To some extent, you can pick your own classes. Nick wants to take my classes.
NOTE: Obviously, he would ace the courses. And in this case, he may not have to show up, contrary to point one.
3. In college, you don't go to class from 8am - 3pm every day.
NOTE: Nick concluded that in your free time, you should get your studying and homework done before you hang out with your friends. If my nine-year-old son understands this, why can't some of my students figure this out?

I would offer one more bit of advice....Stay away from the Jungle Juice.

...stay away from PRB, small children, armark, crackbars, meth houses, sports, certain faculty, and jello.

I think Nick would have gotten an A from me since he understands the whole showing up part of it. Once again, you have the best kids ever.
